The movie is distinctive for its complicated emotions. Much of Juno crackles with great lines that nobody would ever actually say, but everyone wishes they would think of. Ellen Page makes for the most exceptional movie teen in many a year. Juno feelslike Hollywood’s desperate bid for the fickle attention of the YouTube generation. Cody’s writing recalls early Quentin Tarantino - dripping with pop-culture references, from Beverly Hills 90210 to Thundercats - but with a welcome sentimental streak. The blu ray movie, which initially seems as if it might only exist to serve its splendid dialogue, comes to serve its characters, who resonate long after Reitman and Cody deliver their final twist.
